First Person Consent
First Person Consent, or First Person Authorization, is legislation that allows donor
designation to be indicated on a driver’s license, state identification card or an official signed donor document,
and gives hospitals legal authority to proceed with organ procurement without consent from the family.
This means that if you have registered to become a donor on the Arkansas online
registry, your driver’s license or state identification card, your family,
(next of kin) will not be asked for permission (consent) to recover your organs.
